New Dress, Strategy for Surviving BBQ's

Getting ready to go to a BBQ. Excited to wear my new summer dress. And also in an effort not to stain this lovely garment, will keep me away from the ribs!! ‪#‎navigatingbbqs‬ ‪#‎stayingontrack‬

BBQ's and Cake Season is here!!!

The next two weeks will be a challenge and a test to my will power.

My husband's birthday is Monday, and my son's birthday bbq party is on the 13th. Lots of sweets!

The real obstacle I'm facing at the moment is discomfort with my new hernia, and trying to push through and continue to exercise without making it worse. Yesterday I just couldn't do much physically, and instead kept my calories in check.

That in itself is really difficult. I'm used to working out a ton and burning so many calories that I don't really have to be that careful about what I put in my mouth.

I want to use the next two weeks of being surrounded by temptations to be a practice run for me. Can I stay at my calorie goal with little activity? Because I'm going to HAVE to do that after my surgery with 2 month's of recovery!

My husband's birthday cake is one that doesn't appeal to me, so I should be safe from mindless cake snacking there. Lemon cake with almond joy frosting. yuck! He'll LOVE it, and I'm thrilled I won't be tempted there.... now the Reese's PB Fudge I made him yesterday..... that's my weakness. We decided to take that to a pot luck today. Get it out of my house!! It's really good!!!

As I mentioned, we are going to a BBQ today. I KNOW it's going to be packed with lots of high calorie temptations. My strategy... power protein packed low calorie breakfast and light lunch. AND no less then 30 min of cardio before we go. That should keep my net low enough to help navigate the bbq later.

Speaking of which, I need to get OFF the computer and turn my TURBO FIRE DVD on!

Down 9!

It's ‪#‎TransformationTuesday‬. This is what being down 9 sizes looks like. Pic on the left is me at EPS on St. Pat's day, 2011. I was in a size 26, and most likely 300 lbs, or close to that. I wasn't weighing myself back then. Today, I'm 164 and in a size 8. I'm way more comfortable in my saggy baggy skin today then I ever was back at 300 lbs. It feels fresh, clean, and wonderful. :) Thank you for being on this journey with me.
